Beautiful Blue & White

"BLUER THAN BLUE"

I‘m obsessed with blue & white. Blue & white anything ~ fabrics, ceramics, sapphires, regatta stripes, pillows, tile, rugs, garden seats, blueberries & of course, beach houses. It’s fresh, it’s classic & timeless. It says summer to me. A few years ago we inherited a lot of Royal Copenhagen blue & white china from my husband’s Danish grandmother. We have a large set of dishes, serving pieces, wall plates, figurines and a pair of beautiful table lamps.

So... with the lamps as inspiration I decided to re-do the queen guest room. No, THE Queen doesn’t actually stay with us, it’s the way we distinguish between our 2 guest rooms. The queen room because it has a queen sized bed and the other is the twin room because it has ~ wait for it ~ 2 twin beds. Absolutely brilliant Watson!

I decided to go with “ready-made” as much as possible. I found the Ralph Lauren duvet cover, shams & 2 small lamps at Home Goods, a white, pleated bedskirt & white banded Euro shams from Pottery Barn and the white linen tab tied drapery panels on Amazon.com. The room looks so much more inviting ~ crisper & brighter.

Finished! Now...it's time to move on to the bathroom! Stay tuned...
